WHO WE ARE

Medical Aid to Sri Lanka is a registered charity aiming to help improve medical facilities in Sri Lanka. Started in 1995, we have donated over £400,000 worth of equipment and medical supplies to various government health institutions and have also supported training of health workers.

WHAT WE DO

Our Current Projects
  • Providing consumables and catheters to Renal dialysis patients through Kidney patients association

  • Hygiene Project in Vajira Lama Nivasaya Kotte

  • Cataract surgery – restoring sight to one eye costs just £30

  • To Apeksha hospital Maharagama, increase the capacity of bone marrow transplant unit to reduce current the waiting list

  • High floor nasal oxygen therapy device for neonatal to Homagama hospital paediatric unit (£5000)

  • Defibrillator to police rescue unit in Parsikuda Beach resort

Our Work
  • Haemodialysis machine to Padaviya Base Hospital costing £11,000

  • Pulse Oxymeter, Infusion pump, Suction machine and Multi Monitor to Mirigama Base Hospital £2,000

  • Performed  over 2500 cataract operations costing (approximately £44000)

  • Funded 18 permanent houses costing £43,000

  • Donated £25,000 towards a Mammography machine to facilitate early detection  of  breast cancer at Cancer Hospital in Maharagama

  • 200 Artificial Limbs costing £14,000 in Vauvnia and Mannar

  • Microtome, Cancer diagnostic equipment costing £8,000 for the Pathology department University of Colombo

  • Pulse Oximeter x 2 to Castle Street Hospital Neonatal Unit worth Rs 1236000

  • Forced Triad Blood Vessel Sealing Machine  Maharagama Cancer Hospital - £24000

  • Anesthetic machine to Marawila hospital - £19000

  • 1000 Kidney Consumable, Kidney Patients Association - £22000

  • Pulse Oxymeters - £15000 to Diyatalawa, Lady Ridgeway, Monaragala and Panadura Hospitals

  • Baby incubator to Putnam hospital baby unit and Patient warmer

  • DVT prevention equipments to Embilipitiya hospital completed 2019
